Description: The story of *Dragon Quest: Your Story* (2019) begins with Luca’s birth. He and his father, Pankraz, leave Gotha to travel the world and seek revenge for the kidnapping of Luca’s mother, Mada, by monsters. During his childhood journey, Luca meets Bianca and acquires a Golden Orb and a sabrecat cub named Purrcy. While visiting Coburg castle, Luca witnesses Prince Harry being abducted by monsters serving Bishop Ladja. He and his father attempt to rescue the prince, but Pankraz is killed by Ladja. Before passing away, Pankraz reveals to Luca that his mother is still alive.
Luca and Harry are then enslaved by Ladja’s monsters and forced to work on a giant temple for ten years. With the help of Dr. Agon, they eventually escape as adults. Harry returns to Coburg, promising to repay Luca for his father’s sacrifice. Luca reunites with Purrcy, now fully grown, and his father’s retainer, Sancho. He is joined by a woman named Gootrude and learns that Pankraz believed him to be the Legendary Hero destined to stop Ladja. Luca also discovers that Ladja kidnapped Mada because of her Zenithian lineage, which is needed for a ritual to open a portal to the Demon World.
To defeat Ladja, Luca must obtain the Zenithian Sword, located in Mostroferrato and owned by the wealthy nobleman Rodrigo Briscoletti. However, the town is terrorized by Bjørn the Behemoose, who has stolen the sword. Briscoletti offers his daughter Nera’s hand in marriage to anyone who can defeat Bjørn. With Bianca’s help, Luca overcomes the monster and spares Bjørn when he surrenders. Although Luca realizes he is not the Legendary Hero, he becomes engaged to Nera. Eventually, an encounter with a witch (Nera in disguise) leads Luca to confess his true feelings for Bianca.
