Storyline:
The story begins when the Bermuda Triangle makes headlines. Doraemon and his friends decide to go camping after helping Nobita finish his homework. They use special gadgets like an adaptation light to survive underwater and an underwater buggy for transportation. This buggy, which has emotions, develops a liking for Shizuka. Doraemon sets up a large tent that provides all their needs, and that night, they enjoy a barbecue. Gian and Suneo express their desire to explore the Atlantic, but Doraemon stops them.
However, Gian and Suneo secretly take the buggy and venture into the Atlantic Ocean in search of a treasure ship. They lose consciousness, and their friends, searching for them, fear the worst before they eventually wake up. Discovering the ship, Nobita spots a sea horse nearby. As they continue their journey, they realize that the environment gun protecting them is losing energy, leaving them exposed to the dangers of the sea. Marine creatures come to their rescue, but Nobita and his friends are later captured by these beings, who are inhabitants of the underwater kingdom of Mu.
They learn that another underwater kingdom, Atlantis, now controlled by robots, plans to destroy Earth with nuclear weapons after mistaking a volcanic eruption for an invasion. With the help of a young boy from Mu, Nobita and his friends try to stop the robots but end up captured. At a critical moment, the buggy sacrifices itself to destroy the computer controlling the robots and nuclear weapons.
Returning to Mu, Doraemon and his friends are celebrated as heroes before they finally head back home. A remake of this movie is set for release in 2022 and is currently in development at Shin-Ei Animation.
