The cat is the most feared animal there is!|Jun. 01, 2009|Greece|98 Min.|n/A
Genre: Drama
Description: A couple lives with their adult son and two adult daughters in a secluded, fenced-off property. The children are kept entirely isolated from the outside world, believing they can only leave safely by car once they lose a dogtooth. To entertain themselves, they engage in bizarre endurance challenges, such as holding a finger in hot water. They are told they have a brother living beyond the fence, to whom they sometimes throw objects like stones or supplies. The parents enforce strict discipline, rewarding good behavior with stickers and punishing disobedience with violence.
The father arranges for Christina, a security guard from his factory, to visit and have sex with his son. Disappointed by the son’s refusal to perform oral sex, Christina strikes a deal with the elder daughter, trading a headband in exchange for the same act. Later, the elder daughter convinces the younger daughter to lick her shoulder by offering the headband. The younger daughter willingly continues, experimenting by licking other body parts without expecting anything in return.
Meanwhile, the father visits a dog training facility, demanding the return of his dog. The trainer refuses, stating the dog hasn’t completed its training and questioning whether the father wants an animal or a friend.
One day, when a stray cat terrifies the children, the son kills it with pruning shears. Seizing the opportunity, the father fabricates a story. He tears his clothes, covers himself in fake blood, and tells his children that their unseen brother was killed by a cat, which he claims is the most dangerous creature. He then teaches them to bark on all fours to protect themselves from cats. The family holds a memorial service for the supposed deceased brother.
This unsettling narrative explores themes of control, manipulation, and the consequences of extreme isolation.
