Description: **Diva 2020: A Korean Thriller in 1080p**
**Plot Summary:**
After a tragic accident, Yi-Young suffers from memory loss, while Soo-Jin mysteriously disappears. As Yi-Young gradually recovers her diving abilities, her obsession with maintaining her status as a diva, combined with the unresolved disappearance of Soo-Jin, drives her to the brink of insanity.
Shin Min-a, one of my favorite Korean actresses, delivers a compelling performance in this film. The trailer promised a gripping mystery or thriller, but the movie left me with mixed feelings. The narrative is filled with flashbacks and the protagonist’s inner thoughts, blurring the line between reality and imagination. The ambiguous ending leaves viewers questioning whether to sympathize with or despise the lead character. Did her actions stem from regret or selfishness? Was her outward kindness merely a façade?
The film begins with intense suspense, gradually unraveling the complex relationship between the two female leads. While their friendship appears genuine on the surface, it hides darker undertones. The movie includes several gripping and unsettling scenes that solidify its place in the thriller genre. The acting is commendable, but the unresolved ending leaves some of the protagonist’s actions without proper closure, which might feel unsatisfying to some viewers.
Despite its flaws, “Diva” kept me captivated from start to finish. Shin Min-a’s performance, combined with the film’s intriguing premise, made it an engaging watch. If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers, this movie is worth your time.
