Description: Jason Kelly, a corporate lawyer in Atlanta, works at his father’s law firm. After the death of his grandmother, his grandfather, Richard “Dick” Kelly, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, asks Jason to drive him to Boca Raton, Florida, since his driver’s license is suspended. Despite being engaged to his controlling fiancée, Meredith, and with their wedding just a week away, Jason reluctantly agrees to the trip.
During their journey, they stop at a diner where Jason reconnects with Shadia, a former photography classmate, and her friends Lenore and Bradley. Dick pretends to be a university professor and claims Jason is a photographer for *Time*. After parting ways, Dick convinces Jason to meet the group again in Daytona Beach, where he hopes to pursue Lenore. Along the way, Dick flirts with women at a golf course, much to Jason’s frustration.
In Daytona, they reunite with the group and engage in a beer-drinking contest. Dick secretly drugs Jason with Xanax, leading to a wild night where Jason accidentally smokes crack cocaine, parties in only a hornet fanny pack, and steals a motorcycle. The next morning, Jason wakes up on the beach and is embarrassed during a FaceTime call with Meredith and his family when a toddler exposes him by removing the fanny pack. Jason is arrested but bailed out by Dick.
Jason tries to leave Dick at a nursing home with an old Army friend, but they discover the friend is dying. Eventually, Dick persuades Jason to stay in Daytona until he can pursue Lenore. The trip becomes a series of chaotic and humorous events, testing Jason’s patience and challenging his rigid lifestyle as he navigates his grandfather’s antics and his own impending wedding.
