Description: Din – The Day is a 2022 action film produced as a collaboration between Bangladesh and Iran. Directed by Morteza Atashzamzam and produced by Ananta Jalil under Monsoon Films, the movie features Jalil and Afiea Nusrat Barsha in leading roles.
The project began in 2018 when an Iranian production team created a documentary about the Rohingya genocide. After viewing Jalil’s films, the Iranian ambassador to Bangladesh recommended him to the Iranian government, leading to an invitation for Jalil to engage with their film industry. On June 18, 2018, he met Alireza Tabesh from the Farabi Cinema Foundation, where they discussed creating a film that accurately portrayed Islam. An agreement was reached in October of the same year to collaborate on the project.
Filming commenced on February 27, 2019, but faced delays due to injuries sustained by Jalil and later, the COVID-19 pandemic. Production resumed on October 30 and concluded on November 18, 2019. The film was shot in 8K resolution and utilized Dolby Atmos 7.1 surround sound technology, with locations in Bangladesh, Iran, Turkey, and Morocco. The first trailer for Din – The Day was released on YouTube on March 15, 2020.
