Description: Dhokha: Round D Corner is a 2022 Hindi suspense thriller directed by Kookie Gulati. The story follows Sanchi Sinha (Khushalii Kumar), who is held captive by a terrorist named Haq Gul (Aparshakti Khurana) in her own home. Her husband, Yatharth (R Madhavan), and a team of police officers attempt to rescue her. Sanchi suffers from a delusional personality disorder, while Yatharth is suspected of having an affair. Their conflicting perspectives on reality keep the audience guessing until the climax, which includes elements of sensual drama to heighten the tension.
However, the film’s lack of coherence and logical inconsistencies undermine its potential. For instance, the terrorist develops feelings for his hostage within hours, the police officer in charge lacks the necessary expertise, and snipers fail to act despite multiple opportunities. These flaws, along with repetitive and predictable twists, make the narrative monotonous. Though the pace improves in the second half and the climax offers a notable plot twist, it may only appeal to viewers unfamiliar with the genre.
Despite strong performances by the cast, Dhokha: Round D Corner falls short of delivering a gripping thriller, leaving audiences with a sense of unfulfilled potential.
