During a mission, Karel’s Spitfire is shot down while attacking a Heinkel He 111 bomber, but he survives and finds refuge on a farm. There, he meets Susan, played by Tara Fitzgerald, and falls for her, though she views him as too young. Karel introduces František to Susan, and a love triangle begins to form. Despite their bond, tensions rise between the two friends as they navigate their feelings for Susan.
The film explores themes of friendship, love, and sacrifice during wartime, highlighting the enduring human spirit in the face of adversity.
