Description: In Cube 2: Hypercube (2002), the story follows a group of individuals trapped in a mysterious structure composed of interconnected cubes. The narrative begins with a young woman named Becky awakening inside the Cube and encountering a room with reversed gravity, leading to her presumed death. Soon after, seven other captives—Kate, Simon, Jerry, Max, Julia, the blind Sasha, and the elderly Mrs. Paley—find themselves in similar brightly lit cubes, each equipped with doors leading to other rooms. They encounter Colonel Thomas Maguire, who instructs them to solve a code to escape. However, a closing wall forces the group to flee, leaving Maguire behind to perish.
As they navigate the Cube, they discover that gravity behaves differently in each room. Mrs. Paley, a retired theoretical mathematician, and Jerry theorize they might be inside a hypercube, or tesseract. Kate repeatedly notices the numbers “60659” in every room, hinting at a deeper connection. The group deduces they are all linked to Izon, a defense contractor.
Tragedy strikes when Mrs. Paley opens a panel only to meet her death at Simon’s hands, followed by Simon’s decapitation by crystal beams. Jerry speculates about parallel universes, while Max and Julia consider it an optical illusion. Simon later reveals to Jerry that he’s a private investigator searching for Becky, a missing Izon employee.
The group encounters a floating square that morphs into shifting tesseract forms, eventually transforming into a deadly, spinning frame. While fleeing, Jerry is injured and torn apart by the rapidly expanding tesseract. Kate risks her life to save Sasha, narrowly escaping death by sheltering in a corner the tesseract cannot reach. The tesseract eventually reverts to a cube and vanishes, leaving Kate and Sasha separated from the others.
