Description: After falling from a helicopter, Chev Chelios lands in the middle of an intersection and is quickly picked up by gangsters. He wakes up in a makeshift hospital only to discover that his heart has been replaced with an artificial one while Johnny Vang supervises the procedure. Chev manages to escape, but he soon realizes he is attached to an external battery pack. Through interrogation, he learns that Johnny Vang is at the Cypress Social Club.
Chev contacts Doc Miles, who explains that Chev now has an AbioCor artificial heart. The internal battery will activate once the external one runs out, giving him 60 minutes of power. Chev’s car crashes, destroying the external battery pack, so he uses jumper cables to recharge the internal battery.
At the club, Chev loses track of Johnny Vang but connects with a prostitute named Ria, who directs him to a strip club where Vang is hiding. There, Chev reunites with Eve, who is now a stripper. However, Mexican mobsters led by Chico arrive, seeking Chev. After a shootout, Chev discovers that a mobster known as “El Hurón” wants him dead, though the reason remains unclear.
Chev, Eve, and another stripper take a police cruiser and head to the Hollywood Racetrack after learning that Johnny Vang might be there. Along the way, Chev encounters Venus, the brother of his late associate Kaylo. Chev convinces Venus to help by revealing that El Hurón was involved in Kaylo’s death. As Chev’s energy fades again, Doc Miles suggests that friction can charge the artificial heart. Eve arrives and helps generate the necessary friction by engaging with Chev on the racetrack. Revitalized, Chev spots Johnny Vang and leaves Eve behind to continue his pursuit.
