Description: Former smuggler Chris Farraday, played by Mark Wahlberg, enjoys a quiet life with his wife Kate, portrayed by Kate Beckinsale, and their two sons in New Orleans. Their peaceful existence is disrupted when they discover that Kate’s brother, Andy, involved in drug smuggling, has dumped the drugs into the Mississippi River during a sudden U.S. Customs and Border Protection inspection. Andy’s boss, Tim Briggs, demands repayment for the lost drugs and threatens to harm Chris’s family if the debt isn’t settled. To protect his loved ones, Chris is forced to return to his old smuggling ways. He teams up with his former partner, Sebastian Abney, who has since moved into construction, and devises a plan to smuggle counterfeit money from Panama. Chris boards a cargo ship with Andy and his friend Danny Raymer, aiming to purchase $10 million in fake bills. However, Briggs escalates the situation by threatening Chris’s family, forcing them to seek refuge in Sebastian’s home. In Panama, Chris encounters crime lord Gonzalo, the only source of high-quality counterfeit currency. While negotiating with Gonzalo, Andy is coerced by Briggs into using the money to buy cocaine instead. Left with no funds, Chris and Danny strike a deal with Gonzalo to rob an armored car in exchange for the counterfeit bills. During the heist, Gonzalo and his men are killed, but Chris and Danny manage to steal a valuable Jackson Pollock painting, which they smuggle back onto their ship. Back home, Sebastian, who is in debt to a gangster named Jim Church, betrays Chris by partnering with Briggs. Sebastian informs the ship’s captain, Camp, about Chris’s contraband, offering him a share in exchange for securing it. As the situation grows increasingly dangerous, Chris must navigate betrayal, threats, and the complexities of his criminal past to safeguard his family.
