The signal contains a sequence of prime numbers, suggesting intelligent origin. A hidden video within the transmission reveals Adolf Hitler’s opening speech at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, believed to be the first strong signal to escape Earth’s ionosphere and return.
The discovery attracts global attention, and the project is placed under tight security. Ellie’s team deciphers over 63,000 pages of data, uncovering schematics for a single-passenger transport machine. Nations collaborate to build the machine at Cape Canaveral’s Kennedy Space Center, and an international panel selects a candidate to undertake the journey.
