Description: Cold Pursuit, released in 2019, is an action-packed thriller with a gripping storyline. The film follows Nels Coxman, a snowplow driver in the fictional ski resort of Kehoe, Colorado, whose life takes a tragic turn after he receives the “Citizen of the Year” award. Nels’ world is shattered when his son dies from a forced heroin overdose. Overwhelmed with grief, his wife Grace leaves him, pushing Nels to the brink of suicide. However, he discovers that his son was murdered by a Denver-based drug cartel, prompting him to seek vigilante justice.
Armed with a sawed-off rifle, Nels eliminates three cartel members and disposes of their bodies in a nearby river. Trevor “Viking” Calcote, the cartel’s ruthless leader, initially suspects his rival, White Bull, an Ute with whom he has avoided conflict. Viking retaliates by killing White Bull’s only son, igniting a cycle of revenge. White Bull vows to take Viking’s son in return, escalating the tension.
Nels seeks guidance from his brother Brock, a former mob enforcer known as “Wingman.” Brock introduces Nels to a hitman called “The Eskimo,” who agrees to assassinate Viking for $90,000. However, The Eskimo attempts to double-cross Nels by informing Viking of the hit, leading to his own demise. Believing Brock is behind the plan, Viking takes him on a fatal ride, unaware that Nels is the true mastermind. Desperate to end the gang war, Viking offers a scapegoat, but White Bull remains unappeased, triggering further violence.
Amidst the chaos, Nels kidnaps Viking’s son from his prep school to lure Viking into a trap. Despite the ongoing conflict, Nels treats the boy with care, protecting him from the impending bloodshed. The film unfolds as a tale of revenge, loyalty, and the consequences of violence.
