**Storyline:**
Eight friends gather for a dinner party in California on the night a comet passes by. Kevin invites Emily to join him on a business trip to Vietnam, but she hesitates to respond. Laurie, Kevin’s ex-girlfriend, is also present and attempts to rekindle their relationship. Suddenly, a power outage occurs, leaving the group in darkness. The hosts provide blue glow sticks for light, and everyone steps outside to notice that one house up the street still has electricity.
Upon returning inside, they discover a broken glass that wasn’t there earlier. Hugh and Amir decide to visit the illuminated house to borrow a phone, but they return with a mysterious box instead. Inside the box are a ping-pong paddle and photos of themselves—including one taken that very night—with numbers written on the back. Hugh reveals that the other house was set up for a dinner party of eight, eerily mirroring their own situation.
The group soon realizes they’ve encountered an alternate version of their reality. Emily tries to decode the numbers from the box but finds no clear pattern. They decide to write a note to the other house, only to discover the same note pinned to their own door moments later. A stranger approaches the house, startling the group, but he quickly leaves.
Emily, Kevin, Mike, and Laurie venture to the other house to investigate. There, they encounter what appear to be duplicates of themselves, each holding red glow sticks instead of blue. Both groups flee in confusion and return to their respective homes.
Emily explains the bizarre encounter to the others, emphasizing the red glow sticks. Hugh retrieves notes from a physics lecture in his car, and the group deduces that the comet has caused a split in reality. They conclude that one of these realities will collapse once the comet passes, leaving them to face the consequences of their actions in this unprecedented situation.
