Description: The 2018 film *Climax* follows the story of a dance troupe gathering in an abandoned school during the winter of 1996. Choreographer Selva and DJ Daddy interview aspiring dancers for the group, discussing various personal topics such as fears, relationships, and drug experiences. After rehearsing an elaborate routine, the troupe begins an after-party, drinking sangria prepared by their manager, Emmanuelle. As the celebration unfolds, tensions rise due to personal conflicts and gossip among the diverse group.
The atmosphere takes a dark turn when the dancers realize the sangria has been spiked with LSD. Accusations flare, with suspicion initially falling on Emmanuelle, though she denies responsibility, pointing out she’s also affected. Taylor, harboring resentment towards Omar, accuses him of spiking the drink since he hasn’t consumed any. The group locks Omar outside in freezing conditions, further escalating the chaos.
Meanwhile, Emmanuelle discovers her young son, Tito, has consumed the tainted sangria and locks him in an electrical room for safety. Elsewhere, Lou, Selva’s friend, reveals she abstained from drinking because she’s pregnant. However, Dom, heavily intoxicated by the drug, accuses Lou of spiking the drink and violently attacks her. Amid the turmoil, a confrontation between Alaia and Jennifer over cocaine leads to Jennifer’s hair catching fire.
As the LSD takes full effect, the group descends into paranoia and violence, turning on Lou and blaming her for the spiked drink. The film portrays the unraveling of the dancers’ sanity and relationships in a chaotic and intense climax.
