The narrative unfolds as Cinderella and the Prince celebrate their first anniversary with a picnic arranged by the Fairy Godmother, Jaq, and Gus. Meanwhile, Cinderella’s stepsisters, Anastasia and Drizella, are left to carry out her former chores at the Tremaine mansion. Anastasia wanders off and discovers the picnic, where the Fairy Godmother accidentally drops her wand. Anastasia takes the wand to Lady Tremaine and Drizella, who initially dismiss her story. However, when the Fairy Godmother arrives to retrieve the wand, Anastasia accidentally transforms her into a statue.
Seizing the opportunity to restore her family’s fortunes at Cinderella’s expense, Lady Tremaine uses the wand to travel back in time to the day the Grand Duke fitted the glass slipper on Cinderella. She alters the slipper to fit Anastasia, and the Grand Duke declares Anastasia as the Prince’s true love. Cinderella arrives too late to intervene, and Lady Tremaine destroys her remaining slipper—the only evidence linking her to the Prince. Determined to reclaim her destiny, Cinderella follows her stepfamily to the palace with the help of Jaq and Gus.
At the palace, the Prince initially questions Anastasia’s identity, but Lady Tremaine uses the wand to manipulate his memories, forcing him to accept Anastasia as his fiancée. The mice witness this deception and inform Cinderella about the wand’s power. Meanwhile, the King enjoys Anastasia’s presence, gifting her a seashell that once belonged to his late wife. Despite the spell, the Prince begins to sense that he does not truly love Anastasia.
This engaging tale explores themes of love, determination, and the fight for one’s rightful place. Cinderella must find a way to undo Lady Tremaine’s schemes and restore her happy ending.
