Description: “Chup Chup Ke” (2006) is a Hindi film that follows the story of Jeetu, played by Shahid Kapoor, the son of retired teacher Jaidev Prasad, portrayed by Anupam Kher. Jeetu’s poor financial decisions and failed business ventures consistently land him and his father in trouble, leading to mounting debts. Desperate, Jeetu breaks off his engagement with his fiancée, Pooja, and attempts suicide by jumping into the sea, hoping his life insurance money will help his father repay their debts. However, his plan goes awry when he is discovered alive by two fishermen, Gundya (Paresh Rawal) and Bandya (Rajpal Yadav). Mistakenly believing Jeetu is wealthy due to a note found in his pocket, the fishermen take him in. Meanwhile, Jeetu’s family faces more hardship as the insurance company denies their claim due to the lack of a confirmed death. Jeetu, pretending to be mute and deaf, gets entangled in the fishermen’s own financial struggles, particularly with a Gujarati businessman, Prabhat Singh Chauhan (Om Puri), as the story unfolds with humor and unexpected twists.
