Description: Kammo, a wealthy young woman played by Nargis, lives with her widowed millionaire father, Girhdari Lal (Gope). Her father wishes her to marry someone who values her over their wealth. However, Kammo falls for Sumankumar (Pran), a pilot with a reputation for womanizing and greed. When her father disapproves, Kammo runs away from home. Her disappearance is broadcasted on radio and newspapers, with a reward of ₹1.25 lakhs for her safe return.
During her escape, Kammo boards a bus to meet Sumankumar. Sagar (Raj Kapoor), a freelance reporter, is also on the bus, headed to Bangalore to secure an advance from his editor. Bhagwan, an auto driver, sees the reward notice and sets out with his wife to find Kammo. On the bus, Kammo and Sagar have a clash, but during a stop, Sagar learns about Kammo’s situation and sees it as a potential story.
They decide to walk the remaining 7 km to Bangalore, during which Kammo develops a fondness for the simplicity of village life. They spend the night outdoors, where Bhagwan spots them. Amid confusion, they escape in his auto and take shelter at an inn owned by Madarilal (Mukri), promising to pay later. Through their shared experiences and challenges, Kammo and Sagar grow closer and fall in love.
Sagar decides to marry Kammo and leaves for Bangalore to get the necessary funds, leaving her a note. However, while he is away, the innkeeper’s wife humiliates Kammo for lacking payment and forces her out. Feeling abandoned, Kammo calls her father, who arrives to take her home. Sagar returns just in time to see her motorcade departing, leaving their future uncertain.
