Description: The second part of “Che: Part Two” (2008) begins on November 3, 1966, with Guevara arriving in Bolivia disguised as a middle-aged representative from Uruguay. He travels to the mountains to meet his men, and the film tracks his days in the country. By Day 26, solidarity strengthens among Guevara’s men despite his foreign status. However, by Day 67, Guevara faces betrayal. His attempts to recruit peasants fail when they mistake him for a cocaine smuggler, and the Bolivian Communist Party, led by Mario Monje, refuses to support the armed struggle.
By Day 100, food shortages arise, and Guevara enforces discipline to resolve conflicts between his Cuban and Bolivian followers. By Day 113, some guerrillas desert, leading the Bolivian Army to the revolutionaries’ base camp, which held essential supplies and information identifying most of the group as Cubans. Guevara’s disappointment deepens when Tamara “Tania” Bunke, his revolutionary contact, reveals their identity after mishandling preparations.
Guevara’s health deteriorates, and by Day 280, he struggles with severe asthma but continues leading his group toward other revolutionaries. On Day 302, the Bolivian Army ambushes and eliminates the other column, killing Tania Bunke, Juan Acuña Ñunez, and others while crossing the Vado del Yeso.
In a final flashback, Guevara is aboard the Granma in 1956, gazing at the ocean as the Cuban Revolution begins. He observes the Castro brothers—Fidel speaking and Raúl taking notes—before the scene fades to black.
