Description: The story follows Fei Fei, a young girl who is told the legend of the moon goddess. According to the tale, the goddess consumed an immortality potion and now waits on the moon for her lover, the archer, accompanied only by the Jade Rabbit. During the annual Moon Festival, Fei Fei and her family prepare mooncakes for the village. Tragically, Fei Fei’s mother falls ill and eventually passes away, leaving her family in mourning. Before her death, she gifts Fei Fei a bunny named Bungee.
Four years later, Fei Fei grows into a bright and scientifically inclined young woman who continues to help in her family’s shop. She remains a believer in Chang’e, the moon goddess. However, her world is shaken when she discovers her father is dating a woman named Mrs. Zhong, whom Fei Fei dislikes. She is further irritated by Mrs. Zhong’s lively son, Chin.
Determined to prove the existence of Chang’e, Fei Fei designs a rocket shaped like a Chinese paper lantern in the form of a rabbit, powered by fireworks. Her plan nearly succeeds, but Chin secretly joins the journey, causing the rocket to crash. Suddenly, a mystical beam of energy captures the rocket and transports them to the moon. After a rough landing, they are rescued by playful spirits who guide them to their destination.
Upon arrival, Fei Fei and Chin are introduced to Chang’e, who has transformed into a pop star performing for the inhabitants of Lunaria. Chang’e sings about her magic and the origins of the moon, captivating the audience.
Meanwhile, Fei Fei’s family joins the Moon Festival celebration on Earth, where she learns of her father’s engagement to Mrs. Zhong. Overwhelmed by emotions, Fei Fei reflects on her mother’s memory and, inspired by the legend of Chang’e, decides to build a rocket to the moon in an attempt to prove the goddess’s existence. Her determination is further fueled by the construction of a high-speed train in her town.
The journey to the moon and the encounters that follow become a pivotal experience for Fei Fei, blending her scientific curiosity with her emotional longing for her mother and her belief in the ancient legend.
