The movie begins with the Mughal Empire’s invasions of India. It highlights the sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, who gave his life to protect the religious freedom of Kashmiri Pandits. His successor, Guru Gobind Singh, established the Khalsa to resist the Mughal forces, emphasizing martyrdom as a core principle of defense.
The film portrays the Battle of Anandpur in 1700, where Guru Gobind Singh defeated Mughal General Painde Khan. It also depicts the Battle of Chamkaur in December 1704, where 42 Sikhs, led by Guru Gobind Singh, valiantly fought against an overwhelming Mughal army of one lakh soldiers commanded by Wazir Khan. During this battle, Guru Gobind Singh’s elder sons, Sahibzada Ajit Singh and Sahibzada Jujhar Singh, were martyred. Despite their numerical advantage, the Mughals failed to capture Guru Gobind Singh, leading to their eventual defeat.
The younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh, were captured and executed by Wazir Khan in Sirhind. They were immured in a section of the city wall on his orders.
