Description: Juan Oliver aims to make a strong impression at his new job as a prison officer and decides to report a day early, leaving his pregnant wife, Elena, at home. During his tour of the facility, an accident occurs, leaving him unconscious. He is hurriedly taken to the eerie and empty confines of Cell 211. Meanwhile, prisoners revolt and seize control of the prison. The staff flees, abandoning Juan in the midst of the chaos. When he regains consciousness, he quickly assesses the situation and realizes his only hope of survival is to pose as a prisoner.
Convincing the inmates that he is a new arrival convicted of murder, Juan earns their trust. He befriends the riot’s ruthless leader, Malamadre, who takes him under his protection. Malamadre discovers that Basque terrorists linked to ETA are housed in the same prison and plans to use them as leverage. This sparks nationwide prison riots and protests in the Basque region, escalating the situation.
As the crisis becomes politicized and government intervention looms, Juan understands he must fend for himself. Meanwhile, Elena learns of her husband’s dire predicament and rushes to the prison, only to be assaulted outside while seeking information. Footage of her presence at the riot is broadcast inside the prison, alarming Juan, who desperately seeks updates on her safety.
