**Storyline:**
Patience Phillips, a meek and people-pleasing artist and graphic designer, works for Hedare Beauty, a cosmetics company. Her best friend, Sally, is her main source of support. The company is about to launch a revolutionary anti-aging cream called Beau-line, which claims to reverse the signs of aging. One day, while delivering a revised ad design to the R&D lab, Patience overhears a conversation between Dr. Ivan Slavicky and Laurel Hedare, the wife of the company’s owner, George Hedare. They discuss the dangerous side effects of prolonged use of the product. When Laurel’s guards discover Patience, they attempt to eliminate her. She tries to escape through a conduit pipe but is trapped and flushed out, leading to her apparent death.
Mysteriously, Patience is revived by an Egyptian Mau cat, which had previously appeared at her apartment. Upon awakening, she develops cat-like abilities. From Ophelia Powers, the eccentric owner of the cat, Patience learns that Egyptian Mau cats are messengers of the goddess Bast. She comes to understand that she has been reborn as a “Catwoman,” possessing both extraordinary powers and a curse.
Disguised as the vigilante Catwoman, Patience embarks on a quest to uncover the truth behind her attempted murder. Her investigation leads her to Dr. Slavicky’s body, and she is later accused of his murder. Eventually, she confronts Laurel, who agrees to monitor George’s activities. However, when Patience, as Catwoman, confronts George at an opera, he denies any knowledge of the product’s side effects. The police, led by Detective Tom Lone (Patience’s love interest), arrive, forcing Catwoman to flee. In a shocking turn of events, Laurel murders George for his infidelity and admits to orchestrating Dr. Slavicky’s death to prevent him from halting the product’s release.
