Description: **Calibre: A Gripping Tale of Consequences and Survival**
**Plot Summary:**
Marcus, a forceful businessman from Edinburgh, invites his old boarding school friend Vaughn, whose fiancée is expecting a child, on a weekend hunting trip in the Scottish Highlands. Vaughn, inexperienced in hunting, reluctantly agrees. The evening begins at a local village pub, where they meet Logan, a community leader concerned about the village’s declining economy, and two young women, Kara and Iona. After a night of drinking and dancing, Marcus leaves with Kara, ignoring warnings to stay away, while Vaughn and Iona share a moment that nearly leads to a kiss. Vaughn reveals his fiancée’s pregnancy, and the two decide to have another drink instead.
The next morning, a hungover Vaughn is dragged out by Marcus for the hunt. On the way, Vaughn discovers Marcus has been using cocaine and scolds him. Realizing he forgot his ammunition, Vaughn borrows one of Marcus’s guns, a decision that violates strict firearm regulations. During the hunt, they spot a deer in a clearing. Vaughn aims at the doe, but as it suddenly moves, he accidentally shoots and kills a young boy hidden behind the deer. The boy’s father arrives, overwhelmed with grief, and points Vaughn’s gun at him. In a split second, Marcus shoots the man, killing him. Vaughn insists on reporting the incident to the police, but Marcus persuades him that they would be charged as murderers.
Marcus hides the bodies, and they drive away, planning to claim they were hunting in a different area. However, a petrol station owner informs Marcus that Logan has already mentioned there are no other hunters in the vicinity. Marcus convinces a distraught Vaughn that their only option is to return after dark and bury the bodies to cover their tracks. Back in the village, Logan invites them to dinner, where he asks Marcus to help find investors to revive the struggling community. That night, they bury the bodies. Marcus retrieves the bullets, even using a knife to extract Vaughn’s bullet from the boy’s skull, despite Vaughn’s objections.
