Description: Caddyshack, a 1980 comedy film, follows the story of Danny Noonan, who works as a caddie at the exclusive Bushwood Country Club in Illinois. Danny’s goal is to earn enough money for college. He caddies for Ty Webb, a playful yet skilled golfer and the son of one of the club’s founders. To improve his chances of securing a scholarship, Danny tries to impress Judge Elihu Smails, the club’s arrogant co-founder and the head of the caddie scholarship program.
Meanwhile, Carl Spackler, an unstable greenskeeper, is tasked with eliminating a gopher causing damage to the golf course. Despite various attempts, including using a rifle and a high-pressure hose, Carl fails to catch the gopher.
Al Czervik, a wealthy and boisterous real estate developer, joins the club as a guest and quickly irritates Judge Smails. During a game, Czervik distracts Smails, leading to a poor shot and a lost bet. Smails, frustrated, throws his putter, accidentally injuring an elderly woman. Danny takes the blame to gain Smails’ favor, which encourages him to apply for the caddie scholarship.
At the club’s Fourth of July banquet, Danny and his girlfriend Maggie work as wait staff. Czervik continues to annoy the older members while winning over the younger crowd and the staff with his generous tips. Danny also becomes infatuated with Lacey Underall, Smails’ flirtatious niece, who visits the club during the summer.
The plot unfolds as Danny wins the Caddy Day golf tournament, earning him the scholarship and an invitation to Smails’ boat christening ceremony. However, the event ends in chaos when Czervik’s boat accidentally sinks Smails’ vessel. Returning home, Smails discovers Danny and Lacey together, adding to the comedic turmoil of the story.
