Description: A wealthy Parisian couple, Anne and Georges Laurent, find an unexplained videotape on their property showing hours of footage of their home, suggesting they are being watched. Unsure of its source, they wonder if it’s a prank by their 12-year-old son Pierrot’s friends or fans of Georges, who hosts a literary TV show. A second tape arrives, including a childlike drawing of a person with blood coming from their mouth. Similar drawings are sent to Georges’ workplace and Pierrot’s school. Concerned, they report it to the police, who deem it non-threatening. During a dinner party, another tape is delivered, featuring a crude drawing of a bleeding chicken. When Anne shares their situation with friends, Georges plays the tape, revealing footage of his childhood estate.
Georges starts having vivid dreams about Majid, a boy from his past. Majid’s Algerian parents worked on Georges’ family estate but disappeared during the 1961 Paris massacre. Georges’ parents intended to adopt Majid, but it never happened. Suspecting Majid might be behind the tapes, Georges visits his elderly mother, who claims not to remember Majid well. Another tape arrives, showing an HLM apartment. Georges hints to Anne he has a suspect but refuses to reveal more until he’s certain. Anne is shocked by his secrecy.
Following the tape’s clues, Georges finds Majid in the apartment. Majid denies involvement, but Georges threatens him. Unbeknownst to Georges, their interaction is recorded, and the footage is sent to Anne and Georges’ employer, leaving Majid in tears after Georges departs.
