Description: In 2006, a spaceship crashes in Brightburn, Kansas. Tori and Kyle Breyer, who are unable to have a child, discover an infant inside. They adopt the child and name him Brandon, hiding the spaceship in their barn to keep his origins a secret. In 2018, the ship starts transmitting an alien signal, causing Brandon to sleepwalk to the barn. When he tries to access it, Tori stops him. Soon, Brandon begins to display superhuman abilities.
During a school exercise, Brandon falls toward a classmate named Caitlyn, who accuses him of being a creep after previously seeing him in her room at night. Caitlyn is forced to help him up, but Brandon, angered, crushes her hand. That night, Brandon sleepwalks again and breaks into the barn, where he levitates while repeating the ship’s message: “Take the world.” Tori witnesses this and reveals his alien origins. Brandon becomes enraged and unleashes his powers.
Using heat vision, he kills Caitlyn’s mother, Erica, at her workplace. Investigators find a mysterious runic “B” at the scene. The next day, Brandon kills his uncle Noah by lifting and smashing his car. When Tori and Kyle inform Brandon of Noah’s death, he shows no remorse, leaving them horrified. Kyle confronts Brandon, accusing him of murder, but Brandon violently retaliates.
Kyle takes Brandon on a hunting trip and attempts to kill him with a rifle, but the bullet bounces off Brandon’s head. Realizing Kyle’s intent, Brandon chases and kills him with heat vision. Later, a sheriff arrives at the Breyers’ home, questioning Brandon’s whereabouts and showing Tori the “B” symbol linked to the recent deaths.
