Description: Boss Level (2020) tells the story of Roy Pulver, a retired Delta Force soldier living in Atlanta, who finds himself trapped in a relentless time loop. Each day, he wakes up at 7:00 AM, narrowly escaping a series of deadly attacks, including an assassin in his apartment, a gunman in a helicopter, and an explosion that leaves no chance for survival. Despite his efforts to outsmart his enemies, Roy faces an inescapable death at 12:47 PM, only to restart the cycle the next day.
Before the loop began, Roy’s estranged wife, Jemma, invited him to Dynow Labs, a defense contractor, under the guise of a job interview. Their conversation quickly turns tense as they argue over their son, Joe, who believes Roy is merely a family friend. When Colonel Clive Ventor, the head of Dynow, discovers Roy near Jemma’s classified project, he orders him out—though not before Jemma secretly takes a sample of Roy’s hair.
During one loop, Roy attempts to contact Jemma but instead speaks with Ventor, who informs him that Jemma died in a lab accident the previous day. Suspicious, Roy investigates further. In another loop, he finds Joe skipping school to participate in a video game tournament. Roy spends the day bonding with his son, keeping Jemma’s death hidden. When assassins track them down, Roy sacrifices himself to protect Joe, revealing that he is his father before dying.
Upon waking again, Roy discovers that the assassins have been tracking him through a dental device implanted by Alice, a dental hygienist he’d met earlier. Through multiple loops, Roy devises a plan to remove the tracker and infiltrate Dynow Labs, eliminating guards and assassins along the way. However, Ventor always manages to stop him. Roy’s determination to break the loop and uncover the truth drives the thrilling narrative of Boss Level.
