Description: Bogan is a 2017 Tamil action thriller film that follows the story of Vikram, a dedicated and honest Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in Chennai, portrayed by Jayam Ravi. Vikram leads a team of officers, including Sathya (Varun), Akshara (Akshara Gowda), and Prasad (Nagendra Prasad), as he works to maintain law and order in the city. Living with his parents, elder sister (Sindhu Shyam), and brother-in-law (Prakash Rajan), Vikram’s family arranges his marriage to Mahalakshmi (Hansika) to fulfill their wishes.
Vikram’s life takes a dramatic turn when he is assigned to track down Aadhithya Maravarman (Arvind Swami), the cunning son of a monarch who amassed wealth through theft, drug trafficking, and other illegal activities. Aadhithya possesses an ancient manuscript that grants him the power of astral projection, allowing him to control others by making eye contact. During an interrogation, Aadhithya takes over Sathya’s body and kills Prasad. Enraged, Vikram attempts to shoot Aadhithya but is overpowered, as Aadhithya enters his body, leaving Vikram unconscious.
Now inhabiting Vikram’s body, Aadhithya manipulates the situation to frame Sathya and Prasad for their personal vendetta, covering up the murder of Vikram’s best friend. He also encounters Mahalakshmi, briefly indulging in his desires before refocusing on his vengeance against Vikram. Meanwhile, Vikram, trapped in Aadhithya’s body, discovers himself imprisoned and learns of Aadhithya’s plan to destroy his life. With determination, Vikram convinces Sathya of his true identity and escapes from prison. He contacts the Chennai Police Commissioner, Rajkumar (Ponvannan), to expose the truth, but Aadhithya intercepts their conversation and eliminates the superintendent.
As the stakes rise, Aadhithya kills Akshara and reveals a damning confession video implicating Vikram in his father’s wrongdoing. The film’s intense narrative unfolds as Vikram fights to reclaim his identity and bring Aadhithya to justice, blending action, suspense, and supernatural elements.
