The story follows Grey (Lauren Beatty, also from “Bleed”), a 20-something musician whose debut album was a success, leaving her under pressure to deliver a follow-up. She lives with her supportive girlfriend, Charlie (Katherine King So), a painter. However, tension arises when Grey decides to work with Vaughn Daniels (Greg Bryk), a renowned yet reclusive producer with a controversial past—he was once tried for the murder of a young artist he was recording, though charges were eventually dismissed. Despite Charlie’s concerns, Grey moves forward, and the couple travels to Vaughn’s remote home studio, a grand and eerie mansion overseen by a stern housekeeper (Judith Buchan as Vera).
“Bloodthirsty” explores the intersection of creativity, ambition, and vulnerability, offering a thoughtful take on the horror genre. The film was released on April 23, 2021, in the U.S. by Brainstorm Media and simultaneously in Canada by Raven Banner.
