Description: The 2008 film *Blindness* begins with a Japanese professional suddenly losing his vision while driving, his sight turning completely white. A stranger offers to help but ends up stealing the man’s car. The man’s wife takes him to an ophthalmologist, who finds no apparent issues and suggests further evaluation.
The following day, the doctor also loses his sight, realizing the condition is contagious. As more people in the city go blind, panic spreads, leading the government to quarantine the affected individuals in an abandoned asylum. When authorities come to take the doctor, his wife pretends to be blind to stay with him.
Inside the asylum, the doctor and his wife, who secretly retains her vision, are joined by others, including the thief and the doctor’s patients. The “white sickness” becomes a global crisis, with hundreds of new cases daily. The government’s response grows increasingly harsh, cutting off aid to the blind.
Overcrowding and lack of resources in the camp cause living conditions to deteriorate rapidly. The doctor acts as a leader for his ward, while his wife assists others without revealing her sight. Tensions rise over food shortages, leading to conflicts among the inmates. Meanwhile, the soldiers guarding the camp become more hostile, escalating the already dire situation.
