Description: Blind is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language crime thriller film directed by Shome Makhija and produced by Sujoy Ghosh, Avishek Ghosh, Hyunwoo Thomas Kim, Sachin Nahar, Pinkesh Nahar, and Manish W. The movie stars Sonam Kapoor in the lead role, with Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak, and Lillete Dubey in supporting roles. A remake of the 2011 Korean film of the same name, Blind follows the story of a blind police officer on the hunt for a serial killer.
The film revolves around Gia Singh (Sonam Kapoor), who travels to her mother’s house on a dark night. While waiting for a taxi, she is picked up by a private car. The driver, however, is not an ordinary man but a deranged kidnapper who abducts and tortures women to death. Several missing women cases have been reported to the police, and Gia, with her heightened intuition, senses something sinister. She shares her concerns with the authorities, but they dismiss her due to her blindness.
Detective Prithvi (Vinay Pathak) takes charge of the missing cases but soon realizes they are part of a complex and interconnected series of kidnappings. The story explores how Prithvi solves the case and whether Gia, with her unique perspective, can assist him in uncovering the truth.
Principal photography for Blind began on December 28, 2020, in Glasgow, Scotland, and concluded on February 13, 2021. The film premiered on July 7, 2023, on JioCinema.
