Description: Set in a distant technological future, humanity’s civilization has evolved into its ultimate form, reliant on the Net. However, a past “infection” caused the automated systems to spiral out of control, leading to the creation of a vast, self-replicating city structure that expands endlessly in all directions. Humanity has since lost control over the city and is now relentlessly hunted by the defense system known as the Safeguard, which aims to purge them.
In one such village, a group called the Electro-Fishers struggles to survive, caught between the constant threat of the Safeguard and rapidly diminishing food supplies. Zuru, a young girl, embarks on a mission to find food for her village, accompanied by a group of friends. Their journey takes a tragic turn when a Watchtower detects them, triggering a Safeguard pack to eliminate the group. With her companions killed and escape routes sealed, Zuru’s fate seems sealed until the sudden arrival of Killy the Wanderer. Killy, on his own quest to find a human with the Net Terminal Gene, saves Zuru and her close friend, Tae.
Killy is brought to the village, where he meets Pop, the village leader, who becomes intrigued after learning Killy has traveled from “6000 levels below.” Killy assists the village by providing them with a substantial amount of rations, alleviating their food crisis temporarily. However, Killy soon departs for the Rotting Shrine, an area beneath the village, followed by Zuru and Tae. There, they discover the remains of Cibo, a scientist who lived before the disaster. Cibo reveals that she created the shield generator protecting the village from the Safeguard and suggests that the villagers can produce more rations by accessing a nearby automated factory.
Heeding her advice, a group of Electro-Fishers, including Zuru and Tae, ventures to the automated factory in search of additional supplies. With Cibo’s assistance, they manage to log into the system and generate a large quantity of rations, bringing hope to the group. However, shortly after producing a machine for Killy, Cibo’s access is revoked, and the system begins mass-producing Exterminators to eliminate the Electro-Fishers.
