Description: In the film *Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey* (1991), the music of Wyld Stallyns has shaped a utopian future. However, in 2691, Chuck De Nomolos, a former gym teacher turned terrorist, attempts to disrupt this society. He steals a time-traveling phone booth and sends evil robot replicas of Bill and Ted back to the late 20th century to prevent them from winning the San Dimas Battle of the Bands. Rufus tries to stop De Nomolos but seemingly gets lost in time.
Three years after their initial time-travel adventure, Bill and Ted are preparing for the Battle of the Bands. Despite their fiancées Joanna and Elizabeth becoming skilled musicians, the duo remains musically inept. They are promised a spot in the competition with a chance to win a record deal and $25,000. After a party, the evil robots arrive, lure the real Bill and Ted to Vasquez Rocks, and murder them by pushing them off a cliff. The robots then work to ruin the duo’s reputation and relationships.
In the afterlife, Bill and Ted encounter Death, who offers them a chance to challenge him in a game for their souls. Although warned that no one has ever won, the duo manages to escape after playing a prank on Death. Their attempts to seek help by possessing Ted’s father and a deputy fail, and they are eventually sent to Hell during a séance. Facing their fears and tormented by Satan, they realize their only way out is to accept Death’s challenge. They compete in modern games like Battleship, Clue, Electric Football, and Twister, defeating Death each time. Ultimately, Death concedes and places himself at their command.
