Description: Truck driver Jack Burton wins a bet with his friend Wang Chi. To ensure his friend pays up, Jack accompanies him to the airport to pick up Wang’s fiancée, Miao Yin. There, a Chinese-American street gang, the Lords of Death, attempts to kidnap another Chinese girl who is being greeted by her friend Gracie Law. When Jack intervenes, the gang abducts Miao Yin instead. Jack and Wang follow the Lords of Death to Chinatown, where they witness a funeral procession that turns into a clash between two ancient Chinese warrior societies, the Chang Sing and the Wing Kong.
During the chaos, three powerful warriors known as “The Three Storms”—Thunder, Rain, and Lightning—appear and slaughter the Chang Sing. Jack tries to drive his truck through the crowd but accidentally runs over David Lo Pan, the man commanding the Three Storms. To Jack’s shock, Lo Pan emerges unharmed, radiating magical energy. Wang swiftly guides Jack to safety, but Jack’s truck is stolen.
Wang takes Jack to his restaurant, where they meet Gracie, her journalist friend Margo, Wang’s friend Eddie Lee, and a local magician named Egg Shen, who is an expert on mysticism and Lo Pan. They explain to Jack—who is primarily concerned about getting his truck back—the ancient knowledge and sorcery that the Chinese brought to America.
Determined to rescue Miao Yin, the group hatches a plan to infiltrate a brothel where they believe she is being held. Their mission is interrupted by the Three Storms, who capture Miao Yin and take her to Lo Pan. Jack and Wang track down Lo Pan’s front business, posing as telephone repairmen to gain entry, but they are quickly overpowered by Rain. After being beaten by Thunder, they come face to face with Lo Pan, who now appears as a frail old man.
