Description: FBI agent Malcolm Turner, played by Martin Lawrence, is thrilled to discover that his stepson, Trent Pierce, portrayed by Brandon T. Jackson, has been accepted into Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. However, Trent is less enthusiastic about attending college and instead pressures Malcolm to sign a recording contract for him, as he is underage. When Malcolm refuses, Trent’s friends convince him to confront Malcolm during a mission to obtain the signature.
During an operation to apprehend Russian gang member Chirkoff, Malcolm uses an informant, Canetti, to deliver a flash drive to the gang. Meanwhile, Trent attempts to ambush Malcolm. Canetti reveals that the flash drive is empty and that a duplicate is hidden at the Georgia Girls School for the Arts. However, Canetti’s cover is blown, leading to his death, which Trent witnesses. Malcolm rescues Trent, but knowing the gang can track them through Trent’s abandoned car, they go into hiding.
To stay undercover, Malcolm transforms into Big Momma, a character he has portrayed before, while disguising Trent as an overweight girl named Charmaine, Big Momma’s great-niece. They take up roles at the Georgia Girls School for the Arts—Malcolm as a house mother and Trent as a student.
Surrounded by attractive classmates, Trent struggles to maintain his disguise but befriends a girl named Haley Robinson. When the headmistress reports the theft of a historic music box from the library, Malcolm deduces it contains the flash drive. While investigating, Big Momma encounters security guard Kurtis Kool, who attempts to flirt with her. Recognizing a connection between Kurtis and Canetti, Malcolm suspects Kurtis knows about the music box.
Meanwhile, the gang poses as record producers to manipulate Trent’s friends into revealing his location. Despite his disguise, Trent arranges a date with Haley under his hip-hop persona, Prodi-G, though he doubts she’ll be interested.
The story unfolds with action, humor, and the challenges of maintaining their disguises while uncovering the truth about the flash drive and evading the dangerous gang.
