Description: The 2003 film *Big Fish* tells the story of Will Bloom and his father, Edward. During Will’s wedding celebration in 2000, Edward shares a tale of catching a giant catfish using his wedding ring as bait. Will, tired of his father’s exaggerated stories, grows distant from him.
Three years later, Edward is diagnosed with cancer, prompting Will and his pregnant wife, Joséphine, to return to their hometown in Ashton, Alabama. On their journey, Will recalls a childhood story of Edward meeting a witch who revealed his fate through her glass eye. Edward’s tales include befriending a misunderstood giant named Karl, discovering a hidden town called Spectre, and working at the Calloway Circus. At the circus, Edward falls for a woman named Sandra Templeton. Over time, he uncovers the ringmaster’s secret—he is a werewolf—and learns Sandra’s identity.
The film blends reality and fantasy as Will seeks to understand his father’s elaborate stories before it’s too late.
