Description: Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a 2022 Indian Hindi-language comedy horror film directed by Anees Bazmee and written by Aakash Kaushik. The movie is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under T-Series, along with Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios. Serving as a spiritual successor to the 2007 film *Bhool Bhulaiyaa* starring Akshay Kumar, this installment features Kartik Aaryan, Tabu, Kiara Advani, and Rajpal Yadav in key roles. The story is set 15 years after the events of the prequel and follows Ruhan, a fraudulent psychic, who is summoned to tackle the mystery of Manjulika’s revival at the Thakur palace. However, his involvement only worsens the situation.
Filming for *Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2* commenced in October 2019 and concluded in February 2022. The movie was primarily shot in a real mansion located in Lucknow, with additional scenes filmed in Mumbai and Manali. Kartik Aaryan even lost his voice temporarily while performing the climactic sequence. The film’s soundtrack, composed by Pritam and Tanishk Bagchi, features lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Sameer, Yo Yo Honey Singh, and Mandy Gill. Notably, it includes a remix of the 2007 film’s iconic title track by Neeraj Shridhar. Originally slated for a July 2020 release, the film faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was eventually released in theaters on May 20, 2022.
The plot revolves around an accidental yet fateful encounter between two strangers, Ruhaan and Reet, which leads them to Reet’s hometown in Rajasthan. Their actions inadvertently unleash an old secret, triggering chaos. As one lie snowballs into a series of deceptions, Ruhaan and Reet find themselves on a terrifying yet comedic rollercoaster ride, where their misfortune becomes the audience’s entertainment.
