Description: Bell Bottom is a 2021 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Ranjit M Tewari. The screenplay is written by Aseem Arrora and Parveez Sheikh, and the film is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Nikkhil Advani under their banners Pooja Entertainment and Emmay Entertainment. The movie features Akshay Kumar in the lead role, along with Lara Dutta, Vaani Kapoor, and Huma Qureshi in supporting roles. Inspired by real-life hijacking incidents in India during the 1980s by Khalistani separatists, including the hijackings of Indian Airlines flights 423, 405, and 421, the film tells the story of the era’s unsung heroes.
Principal photography for Bell Bottom began on August 20, 2020, and concluded on September 30 in London. The film was initially slated for a Republic Day 2021 release but faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It became the first Bollywood film to resume shooting during the pandemic. The theatrical release was further postponed due to the second wave of COVID-19 in India, with the film finally premiering on August 19, 2021, in 3D.
The film’s music is composed by Daniel B. George, while Julius Packiam handled the trailer score. The soundtrack features songs by Amaal Mallik, Tanishk Bagchi, Shantanu Dutta, Kulwant Singh Bhamra, Gurnazar Singh, and Maninder Buttar, with lyrics by Rashmi Virag, Tanishk Bagchi, Babbu Maan, Seema Saini, and Gurnazar Singh. Notably, the song *Sakhiyan 2.0* is a remake of the 2018 Punjabi track *Sakhiyan* by Maninder Buttar.
