**Storyline:**
Andy Hanson, a finance executive facing an audit that will expose his embezzlement, plans to flee to Brazil. To gather the required funds, he recruits his brother Hank, a divorced father struggling to pay child support and tuition. Unbeknownst to Andy, Hank has been having an affair with Andy’s wife, Gina.
Hank, though well-meaning, is easily manipulated by the ruthless Andy, who harbors resentment toward his younger, more favored brother. Andy devises a plan to rob their parents’ jewelry store, convincing Hank to join him. Andy argues that only Doris, an elderly employee, will be present, making the robbery seemingly victimless with the insurance covering the loss.
Without Andy’s knowledge, Hank enlists Bobby Lasorda, an experienced thief, to assist. During the robbery, Bobby uses a real gun instead of a toy, and the situation escalates when the brothers’ mother, Nanette, unexpectedly fills in for Doris. Nanette shoots Bobby, who retaliates, mortally wounding her before she kills him.
Nanette dies a week later in the hospital, leaving her husband, Charles, obsessed with uncovering the truth. Meanwhile, Bobby’s brother-in-law, Dex, threatens Hank, demanding financial compensation for Bobby’s widow and warning of dire consequences if he fails to pay.
