**Storyline:**
On June 16, 1994, Jesse and Céline meet on a train traveling from Budapest. They start a conversation and quickly connect. Jesse is heading to Vienna to catch a flight back to the United States, while Céline is returning to her university in Paris after visiting her grandmother. When they arrive in Vienna, Jesse persuades Céline to get off the train with him. He suggests that, years later, she might question her life choices and wonder what could have been if she had taken a different path. He admits he’s just an ordinary guy but believes this experience could be meaningful. With Jesse’s flight departing early the next morning and no money for a hotel, the two decide to spend the night wandering through Vienna.
As they explore the city, they visit several landmarks and share a kiss at sunset on the Wiener Riesenrad ferris wheel, sparking a romantic connection. Their conversations deepen, touching on topics like love, life, religion, and their personal experiences. Céline reveals that her last relationship ended because her ex-boyfriend claimed she “loved him too much.” Jesse, in turn, shares that he came to Europe to be with his girlfriend, who was studying in Madrid, but they broke up shortly after his arrival. He then traveled across Europe before ending up in Vienna.
During their walk along the Donaukanal (Danube Canal), they encounter a man who, instead of begging, offers to write them a poem using a word of their choice.
