**Storyline:**
Barry B. Benson, a recently graduated honey bee with the unique ability to communicate with humans, is eager to start his career at Honex Industries, the hive’s honey-producing company. His best friend, Adam Flayman, joins him, but Barry’s enthusiasm fades when he realizes his job choice is permanent. A chance encounter with the adventurous Pollen Jocks, who collect pollen outside the hive, sparks Barry’s curiosity. During his first pollen-gathering trip in New York City, Barry gets caught in the rain and finds himself on the balcony of Vanessa Bloome, a kind-hearted florist.
When Vanessa’s boyfriend, Ken, tries to harm Barry, Vanessa rescues him, and the two form an unlikely bond. Breaking the rule that forbids bees from interacting with humans, Barry returns to thank Vanessa, and their friendship deepens. During a visit to a grocery store, Barry discovers that humans have been harvesting and consuming honey for centuries. Shocked by this exploitation, Barry visits a honey farm and witnesses the harsh conditions bees endure, including the use of smoke to control hives.
Determined to fight for his species, Barry decides to sue humanity to end the exploitation of bees. His lawsuit gains widespread attention, drawing both bees and humans to the trial. Despite facing a formidable defense attorney, Layton T. Montgomery, Barry initially succeeds in court. However, tension rises when Ken confronts Barry, leading to a dramatic confrontation. As the trial continues, Montgomery’s aggressive tactics provoke Barry’s friend Adam, resulting in chaos that threatens to derail their case.
