While preparing to visit his mother for the anniversary of his father’s death, he misses his flight after his keys and luggage are stolen. When he tries to explain the situation to his mother, she brushes him off. Later, after being locked out by homeless people, he learns from a UPS driver that his mother has died in a tragic accident. Beau’s journey becomes increasingly chaotic as he faces violent encounters, leaving him in a state of constant turmoil.
The film, distributed by A24, had a limited theatrical release in the U.S. on April 14, 2023, followed by a wider release. It has garnered generally positive reviews from critics.
