Description: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a 2016 movie that follows a gripping story. The film opens with a flashback to Bruce Wayne’s childhood, where he recalls his parents’ funeral and the night they were murdered. During this memory, he falls into a cave and dreams of being lifted by a swirling vortex of bats. In the present, eighteen months after the battle between Superman and General Zod in Metropolis, Superman has become a controversial figure. Bruce, now a billionaire vigilante known as Batman, has operated in Gotham City for twenty years. Witnessing the destruction caused by Superman’s battle with Zod, Bruce views Superman as a significant threat to humanity.
Clark Kent, Superman’s civilian identity, investigates Batman’s vigilante methods and aims to expose him through articles in the Daily Planet. Meanwhile, Bruce discovers that Russian weapon trafficker Anatoli Knyazev is in contact with LexCorp CEO Lex Luthor. Luthor seeks permission from Senator June Finch to import kryptonite, hoping to use it as a defense against future Kryptonian threats. When Finch refuses, Luthor conspires with one of her subordinates, gaining access to Zod’s body and a Kryptonian scout ship.
Bruce attends a LexCorp gala to steal encrypted data but is outmaneuvered by Diana Prince, an antiquities dealer, who later returns the data. While decrypting the information, Bruce has a vivid dream of a dystopian future where he leads a rebellion against an evil Superman. The dream ends with a mysterious figure appearing through a portal, urging Bruce to find “the others” and declaring Lois Lane as “the key.” The decrypted files reveal details about several metahumans, including Diana Prince, who is shown in a World War I photo. Determined to stop Superman, Bruce plans to steal the kryptonite to create a weapon.
A Congressional hearing, led by Senator Finch, is held to evaluate Superman’s recent actions. However, a bomb smuggled by Luthor explodes, killing everyone except Superman. The film continues to explore the escalating conflict between Batman and Superman, setting the stage for their eventual confrontation.
