The storyline follows Batman and his new partner, Robin, as they face a formidable new enemy, Mr. Freeze. Later, it is revealed that Mr. Freeze was once Dr. Victor Fries, a scientist working on a cure for MacGregor’s syndrome to save his terminally ill wife. A lab accident left him unable to survive at normal temperatures, forcing him to rely on a cryogenic suit powered by diamonds.
Meanwhile, in a Wayne Enterprises lab in Brazil, botanist Dr. Pamela Isley works under the unstable Dr. Jason Woodrue, experimenting with a drug called Venom. When Isley discovers Woodrue’s unethical experiments, including transforming a serial killer into a monstrous being named Bane, she threatens to expose him. Woodrue attempts to kill her but inadvertently triggers her transformation into the seductive and deadly Poison Ivy. She kills Woodrue, escapes with Bane, and sets her sights on Gotham City to seek revenge on Wayne Enterprises for funding Woodrue’s work.
Poison Ivy arrives in Gotham with Bane, aiming to use Wayne’s resources to further her own goals. At the same time, Alfred Pennyworth’s niece, Barbara Wilson, visits Wayne Manor and is invited to stay by Bruce Wayne. During a Wayne Enterprises press conference, Poison Ivy proposes a dangerous environmental project, which Bruce declines. That evening, a charity event attended by Batman and Robin is disrupted by Mr. Freeze, who steals a diamond from the gathering.
The movie intertwines these complex narratives, blending action, betrayal, and the ongoing battle between Batman, Robin, and their new adversaries.
