Description: On Christmas Day, Gotham City residents Tucker and Esther Cobblepot give birth to a deformed baby boy named Oswald. Horrified by his appearance and behavior, they confine him to a cage and eventually abandon him in the sewer. He is found by a group of penguins living beneath the abandoned zoo.
Thirty-three years later, wealthy philanthropist Max Shreck proposes a power plant project to provide energy to Gotham. However, his plans face opposition from the mayor. During a public speech, the city is attacked by the Red Triangle Gang, a disgraced former circus troupe. While Batman manages to fend off the criminals, Shreck is kidnapped and taken to the sewer, where he encounters the gang’s mysterious leader, Oswald, now known as the Penguin. Oswald blackmails Shreck using evidence of his corporate crimes and forces him to help him return to the surface.
