**Storyline:**
Karim, a 27-year-old Bangladeshi, works in an industrial laundry in South Korea. Despite being an intellectual, his academic degree isn’t recognized there, and his work permit is nearing expiration. He’s still owed a year’s salary by his former employer, Shin, who refuses to respond to his calls. Meanwhile, Karim faces financial pressure from his wife back home.
Min-seo, a 17-year-old high school student, struggles with her mother, Eun-joo, who plans to marry her unemployed boyfriend, Ki-hong. Min-seo’s inability to afford study classes forces her to take an under-the-table job at a massage parlor to pay for English lessons.
During the first day of summer vacation, Min-seo finds Karim’s wallet on a bus and takes it. When Karim confronts her, she avoids involving the police by offering to help him track down his former boss. Posing as loan sharks, the unlikely duo begins to influence each other’s lives in unexpected ways.
As their bond deepens, Min-seo learns to trust Karim, and he shares insights about South Korean society. What starts as a transactional relationship evolves into a heartfelt connection between two lonely individuals. However, Karim’s impending visa expiration looms over their newfound friendship.
