Description: Raj and Pooja have been married for 40 years and have four biological sons: Ajay, Sanjay, Rohit, and Karan. They also raised an adopted son, Alok, who they supported and educated after he was orphaned. Alok grew up to be successful and deeply respected Raj for his kindness. After Raj retires and struggles financially, he and Pooja decide to leave their home and seek shelter with their children. However, the sons are unwilling to take them in together and instead propose splitting their parents up, each hosting one parent for six months. They assume their parents will refuse, but Raj and Pooja reluctantly agree to the arrangement.
During their separation, Raj and Pooja face mistreatment and neglect from their children. Raj stays first with Sanjay and then with Rohit, receiving little affection except from his grandson Rahul. Meanwhile, Pooja stays with Ajay and Karan, enduring abuse from her daughter-in-law, Kiran, and granddaughter, Payal. However, Payal begins to show love and gratitude after Pooja saves her from a dangerous situation. Heartbroken by their children’s actions, Raj writes about his sacrifices, his love for Pooja, and the pain of their separation. His writings eventually become a successful novel titled *Baghban*.
After six months, Raj and Pooja reunite briefly during a train change in Vijaynagar, where they are discovered by Alok. He takes them into his home and cares for them. Raj learns his novel has been published and earns enough to support himself and Pooja. The four sons, realizing their mistakes, attend a book ceremony and ask for forgiveness. However, Raj and Pooja refuse to forgive them and disown them for the pain they caused.
