**Storyline:**
The El Royale, a hotel once favored by the wealthy, has lost its former glory after losing its gambling license. Situated on the border between California and Nevada, the hotel holds a dark past. In 1959, Felix O’Kelly hides a bag of money beneath the floorboards of his room, only to be shot dead by a man he recognizes.
A decade later, four strangers arrive at the now-decrepit hotel: Father Daniel Flynn, singer Darlene Sweet, salesman Laramie Seymour Sullivan, and a hippie named Emily Summerspring. The hotel is managed solely by Miles Miller, a heroin addict.
After checking into the honeymoon suite, Laramie discovers hidden wiretaps and a secret corridor equipped with one-way mirrors and cameras, allowing him to spy on the other guests. Unbeknownst to them, Laramie is actually Special Agent Dwight Broadbeck of the FBI. He reports to J. Edgar Hoover, who instructs him to retrieve the FBI’s surveillance materials and prevent the guests from leaving. To achieve this, Dwight disables all the cars in the parking lot.
Father Daniel invites Darlene to dinner, where she catches him attempting to drug her drink. In self-defense, she knocks him unconscious. Later, Miles finds Daniel and tries to confess his sins, but Daniel refuses to listen. Miles reveals his involvement in filming illicit activities in the hotel’s secret corridor, including a compromising video of a deceased public figure who had once shown him kindness.
As tensions rise, the guests find themselves entangled in a web of secrets, lies, and danger at the El Royale.
