Description: Elizabeth Halsey is a lazy, gold-digging teacher at John Adams Middle School in Chicago. She curses at her students, drinks heavily, smokes, and shows movies in class while she sleeps. After her wealthy fiancé dumps her upon discovering she’s only after his money, she returns to teaching. Determined to win over Scott Delacorte, a wealthy substitute teacher, she rejects advances from the school’s gym teacher, Russell Gettis, while competing with her dedicated colleague, Amy Squirrel, for Scott’s attention.
Elizabeth plans to get breast enlargement surgery, motivated by learning Scott’s ex-girlfriend had large breasts. However, she can’t afford the $9,300 procedure. She tries to raise money through a 7th-grade car wash, wearing provocative clothing and manipulating parents into donating for school supplies and tutoring. Her efforts fall short, and when Amy accuses her of embezzlement, the principal dismisses the claim due to lack of evidence. Meanwhile, Scott reveals he’s attracted to Amy and only sees Elizabeth as a friend.
Upon discovering that the teacher with the highest state test scores receives a $5,700 bonus, Elizabeth changes her teaching style, forcing her class to intensely study *To Kill a Mockingbird*. However, the students perform poorly on quizzes, frustrating her further. As Amy and Scott start dating, Elizabeth befriends Russell. Desperate, she decides to steal the state test answers by impersonating a journalist and seducing Carl Halabi, the state professor in charge of the exams. After drugging him, she steals the answer key. A month later, she wins the bonus, secures the funds for her surgery, and books the procedure.
